Thank you for visiting my website to learn more about me and why I believe I can serve you well in Clark County District Court, Department 31. As an attorney in Clark County for 31 years, I have had a great deal of experience handling the civil law issues that will come into this new seat on our court. I filed for this office because I strongly believe that my background and expertise prepare me well to handle the case load that Clark County residents face.
I am a member of the International Bar Association, American Bar Association, State Bar of Nevada, and Clark County Bar Association. I have also served as a lecturer for the International Bar Association, taught courses at Cornell University and the Community College of Southern Nevada, and written articles for the Clark County Bar Association Bar Journal. I have also chaired the Sports and Gaming Law Committee of the International Bar Association as well as the Gaming Law Committee of the American Bar Association's General Practice Division and served as a member of the Clark County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee. I am honored to have been named by the Nevada Business Journal as one of 16 “Super Lawyers” in Nevada.
In addition, I strongly believe in giving back to the community. For this reason, I have volunteered my legal services to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 17 and the Injured Police Officers Fund. I have also served as a director of the Nevada Easter Seals, Nevada Opera Theater, and Las Vegas Sister Cities Association, Inc.
My qualifications give me the background that a District Court judge needs. More importantly, my professional reputation and work ethic assure you that I will be a judge who will serve Clark County well and diligently. Judges should respect the community by working hard and being accessible both to litigants and to law enforcement officials. I have heard too many stories about police officers searching the courthouse halls on a Friday afternoon for a judge to sign a search warrant. I believe strongly that the community and law enforcement deserve judges who work hard.
